The postcards were nearly all posted between 1903 and 1910, and often sent and received by young ladies. It would seem that it was the fashion to send your friends a postcard whenever you were away from home. The cards have a green halfpenny stamp unless it was sent to another country, when a red one penny stamp was needed.
The original photographs were in sepia, as they were taken before the advent of colour film, but many of the postcards have been colourised to make them look more attractive.

The cards are not always of scenes. Some are comic and many are Christmas cards.
